On the 26th & 27th January 2006, 26010 moved away from its home for the last 10 years. After being propelled to the load/unload point at Chapel Brampton the loco was moved on a low-loader to Quorn on the Great Central Railway. Unloading at Quorn took place on Friday 27th January, with helpful assistance provided by the GCR p-way team & 25265.

Thanks must go to the Northampton & Lamport Railway (especially Gordon & John), Nick & the Great Central p-way lads, plus the Heanor lads, Andrew Goodman and all who helped out.

26010 will remain at the Great Central Railway where it will have a full bodywork restoration & partial repaint before being moved to an established railway in Scotland where it will receive mechanical work, running-in & top-coating in its new livery.

On Monday 6th February 26010 was moved from Quorn to Rothley for its repairs to take place.
